Quonset’s Port of Davisville Loads Hull of World’s Largest Sailing Catamaran

Highlighting the versatility of the Port of Davisville at Quonset, a 200 ton catamaran hull was loaded from a barge onto the M/V Rickmers New Orleans for transport to Europe on October 7th, 2009.

The catamaran arrived from the Derecktor shipyard in Connecticut via barge on Tuesday October 6, 2009.

The 600 foot Rickmers New Orleans, which was one of the largest ships to dock at the Port of Davisville, is equipped with 3 onboard cranes which also loaded 12 containers for export to Europe.
